Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek
A quiet, lesser-known trek through yak pastures to a high plateau scattered with glacial lakes, just south of Thimphu.
Few trekkers know Dagala, which is exactly its charm. Short driving distances from Thimphu lead to a high country of yak herders, wildflowers and dozens of glacial lakes.
On the clearest days, the passes reveal a sweeping line of Himalayan giants along the horizon.
Highlights
- Camping among the Dagala lakes
- Yak herders and summer pastures
- Wide Himalayan panoramas from the passes
